Biography

Cevdet Erek is an artist and musician whose practice explores the relationships between sound, rhythm, architecture, and the experience of space. Moving fluidly between installations, performances, and site-responsive interventions, he creates environments in which listening becomes a physical and spatial encounter. His work has been presented at major international institutions and exhibitions, including the Secession in Vienna, Hamburger Bahnhof in Berlin, Museum Tinguely in Basel, Istanbul Modern, Arter, SALT Beyoğlu, and the Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden. He has also participated in the São Paulo, Liverpool, Mardin, and Thessaloniki biennials. Through these diverse contexts, Erek continues to develop a distinctive artistic language that brings together sonic experimentation, architectural awareness, and the rhythms of everyday life.
