The Herbarium project focuses on exploring the creative process of making art, isolated from the contexts of its presentation as an ecosystem independent of external circumstances. Our partnership with Bulgaria’s largest platform for contemporary visual art, Forum ‘Buna’, challenges the concept of the Herbarium by offering the opportunity to observe how the collection’s holdings interact with various fields of art presentation. As part of Buna, we are presenting a new box by an artist who works independently, without interaction with the festival’s curatorial team. In the fourth edition of Buna, we present Neno Belchev’s herbarium box. The project, provisionally titled *The Head of Personal Gorgona Medusa*, focuses on the artist’s interest – dating back to his childhood – in ancient myths based on ancient Greek and ancient Indian epics. In recent years, whilst working on a project that ‘delves into’ the gesture of the protruding tongue, Neno has rediscovered these myths, examining them through a new ‘lens’ and drawing parallels between them.
