Biography

Isadora Soares Belletti (born in Belo Horizonte in 1995) lives and works in Paris. She studied film at FAAP in São Paulo before moving to Paris, where she continued her studies at the Beaux-Arts de Paris, graduating with jury's honors in 2024. Working with film, installation, and text, Isadora thinks of her works as portraits of people or other beings, and the places they inhabit (in real life, or fictionally): a mother and a daughter who changed continents in the early 2000s; Isadora's grandmother, who applauds the sunset every day from her balcony in Belo Horizonte; or birds that have migrated and adapted to a much colder climate than their own. She conceives film not only as a succession of moving images, but also as a sculptural and spatial medium, an entity that goes beyond the screen into physical space. This research extends to an exploration of materiality itself: light sensitive and time-reactive elements that are not just tools for projection, but poetic carriers of memory, loss and transformation. Her work has been shown at Pivô, Galeria Galatea, the Museum of Brazilian Art (FAAP), among others, in Brazil; and at Frac Île-de-France, Air de Paris, Solar Galeria de Arte Cinemática, AWARE, Elsewhere - Paraguay Press, Espacio Temporal, le Palais des Beaux-Arts, among others, in Europe. In 2022, she was awarded the Diptyque Scholarship for her 3rd year diploma at the Beaux-Arts de Paris. In 2024, Isadora was awarded the FoRTE Île-de-France grant (Regional Fund for Emerging Talent) in the visual arts category, together with Persona Curada.
