The moving-image piece “A score for a bedsheet” is based on a homoerotic autobiographical novel written by an anonymous author, discovered in the private archive “National Memory”. The work recounts the first love of a young gay man returning from compulsory military service in 1986 to his hometown of Sofia, set against the backdrop of the end of communism and the beginning of democracy. Set entirely in shades of blue, the film uses color to evoke the twilight hour, the only moment when the two protagonists have the opportunity to be together.
