Biography

In a vibrant, jubilant and hybrid practice bringing together drawing, song, writing, dance, and sound sculpture, Traïanova transforms the voice into a material for sculpting. Reflecting on the passage from one artistic field to another, she developed the figure of the “singer-skater,” a moving and performative entity that combines vocal practice and skating across institutional and public spaces.
Her work has been presented in France and internationally in numerous art institutions as well as music and poetry festivals. In August 2023, she was an artist-in-residence at the Emily Harvey Foundation in Venice, where she developed the project I Am Sinking. Her performances have been presented at the Palais de Tokyo (Les Écritures bougées, Paris); Largo (Sofia Art Projects III, Sofia); Centre Pompidou (La Nuit de la Lecture, Paris); the Aperto project space at Fondation Ricard (Piste 3 (a host) / Too Many Records, Paris); the Château de Montsoreau – Museum of Contemporary Art (Nuit Blanche); Fondation Fiminco (Made Anywhere, Romainville); Treize (Rire pourquoi faire, Paris); and the International Poetry Center (À côté de la page, Marseille). Her work has also been presented at the Monnaie de Paris Museum, MAC/VAL Museum, Centre Pompidou-Metz, MUDAM (Luxembourg), MNAC (Bucharest), Schauspiel Cologne, S.M.A.K. Ghent, and in the 0GMS-cabinet at the Sofia City Art Gallery, where she presented the solo exhibition UOOOOooooOO (2018). One of her most recent performances, Lust, was presented at the symposium Tune In To Reality in conjunction with the exhibition Lily Greenham: An Art of Living at the Badischer Kunstverein (Karlsruhe), as well as at the Swimming Pool art center as part of Danser Chanter Aimer (Dance Sing Love), her most recent solo exhibition (Sofia).

Artists

« Lust » is a performance inspired by the character ‘Lust, ou la Demoiselle de cristal’ from Paul Valéry’s *Mon Faust*, which explores our relationship with language and imagery, the latter being a manifestation of a repressed desire. This version features a choreography specifically designed for the former Russian consulate in Varna, which will resonate through the multiplicity of languages and the gliding movements of the singer-skater who embodies it across the various linguistic and vocal textures of the sound poem that constitutes the piece. It also consists in activating the soundpiece untitled "UOOOOooooOO" wihich is part of the exhibition.
