“Repeated Presence”, 2026, 120/80, print on plexiglass

Artists

The project continues a series of artistic explorations in which the author uses the traditional Bulgarian kovyorche (embroidered wall hanging) as a visual and conceptual object associated with memory, domestic intimacy, and cultural belonging. In “Repeated Presence,” she uses her own image to create a kind of self-portrait, inspired by the composition of Gabrielle d’Estrées and One of Her Sisters from the School of Fontainebleau. Pixelation simultaneously conceals and reveals the image, turning each square into an analogue of an embroidery stitch. Repetition becomes a gesture of creative persistence – a refusal to exhaust an object that continues to generate new artistic possibilities.
